And that’s a wrap.

Ha. See what I did there? 😉

The silly season. It really is just that.

People start to go really bloody silly and it’s funny, no matter how hard you try to stay calm, the energy that some people surround you with, can really effect your vibe and how you’re feeling. And most of the time, they don’t even realise it themselves.

I was totally crushing it and then one morning just recently, I woke up and started to feel the urgency and stress or Christmas creeping in and all I can put it down to is the energy around me because this year, for the first time in forever, we really do have it under control.

Shopping is minimal and done, time away is booked, house is at the point where it’s not taking up every spare moment of our time, kids are happy, work isn’t overloaded and everyone is genuinely a-ok.

It’s amazing how powerful your output can be on others. “Your vibe attracts your tribe” couldn’t be more accurate in this situation. So I’m going to do my best to stay away from the shops and chaos of this time of year, find time and space for the beach, music, reading and quiet-time as much as I can in the next fortnight - around school awards ceremonies, running errands and businesses, washing school uniforms, finding lost socks, brushing four-terms-worth-of-knotty-hair and sifting through piles and piles of school work that’s about to hit my laundry floor. 🥴

Meh…or Brah -to quote my youngest and her new found slang.

So, with all that said, it’s time for me to wrap up my family photography for the year. I have a handful of family sessions over the summer that I’m really looking forward to but I’ve decided to call it a day [for now] and won’t be taking any more bookings until I release some session dates in the future.

My studio is inching [ever-so-slowly] toward completion and after a lot of late night [and all day] thinking, I've decided I need to take a break altogether and put my energy into planning the next direction I want to take my business.

My humble little print shop will stay open and I’m looking forward to adding some new collections to the mix.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those of you who have purchased a print and helped raise funds and awareness for fight mnd. I appreciate you and your support more than I can put into words!

To my clients who continue to support me and those that have done over many many years - THANK YOU! You honestly don’t know how grateful I am for you! Some of you have been with me since the very beginning and I can’t tell you how thankful I am that you still put your trust in my work, especially when there are 1000’s of amazing photographers out there to choose from nowadays.

If this year has taught me anything, it’s to be grateful for your loved ones, your health and your time. For many, life is far too short and we need to focus more on soaking up the good and stop wasting energy on things if they don’t bring us joy.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year and I hope 2023 brings you Oceans of Love, Good Health and Happiness.

Much love,

Holly x
